2018 WAESPAA Annual Conference
On behalf of the 2018 WAESPAA Conference Committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2018 Western Australian Principals and Administrators' Association (WAESPAA) Annual Conference.
The Conference will be held at the Parmelia Hilton, Perth on the 22nd and 23rd August 2018 with the Annual Country Member and Aspirant Day held the day prior.
2018 will mark the 35th anniversary of the inception of WAESPAA and we invite you to join us celebrate this milestone with colleagues and friends at the 2018 Conference.
Conference Theme: "What Works: Leading Inclusive Practice to support students with disability and additional learning needs.”
TYPE OF SUBMISSIONS
The Conference Organising Committee aims to create a Conference program with a mix of the following presentation types:
- Presentations / Workshops (45 minutes)
- Posters (on display over the 2 Conference days)
The Conference Committee is seeking submissions relating to the following Conference streams:
Leading whole school well-being, engagement and inclusive practice;
- Leading innovative programs and processes
- Staff as learners in the school setting
- The role of aspiring leaders towards positive change
- Strategies to engage whole schools in developing effective practice
- Building collaborative partnerships
Enhancing outcomes for students with disability and additional learning needs in a high care environment;
- Enablers for success
- Case studies or literature review
- Inclusion in practice
- Leadership development
- High performance in a high care environment
Leading contemporary inclusive classroom pedagogical practices;
- Case studies demonstrating student achievement
- Practical implementation of programs
- Student engagement
- Inclusive assessment

2017 WAESPAA Annual Conference
Representatives from the Mid-West, Pilbara, Goldfields-Esperance and Metropolitan regions of Western Australia headed up the professional learning and fun on Wednesday 23rd August, the day preceding the 2 day Conference. The day included a school tour of our WAESPAA Award winning Education Support facilities - Rockingham Beach Education Support Centre and Malibu School before a visit to the School of Special Education Need and Disability in Padbury.
The 2017 Western Australian Education Support Principal and Administrators’ Association (WAESPAA) Conference, High Care Leadership was held at the Parmelia Hilton Perth on the 24th and 25th August. The Conference theme focused on the complexities of leadership within a High Performance - High Care school environment. The conference provided an excellent opportunity for school leaders, aspirants and others working in the education support sector the opportunity to network and enrich their understanding in the areas of Leadership and Education for students with disability.
The popular Conference Showcase held on Thursday evening at the Parmelia Hilton was attended by more than 150 delegates and visitors. The Showcase was opened by the Hon Sue Ellery MLC, Minister for Education and Training. The outstanding contribution of Special Education in Western Australia was evident throughout the exhibition and those who attended were provided with an opportunity to share high level classroom expertise and school-wide innovation.
