Kaya,
I just wanted to drop you all a midweek email to let you know about two very exciting things that have happened in the education support world this week. We have some very brave souls in our membership, five of them jumped of the Rio Tinto Building on Sunday to raise money for Cahoots – Jessica Bates, Sara Campbell, Joanne Gordon, Emma Reed and Merrilee Wright (along with 7 of her staff!)
Also today we had the launch of ITE -Xtend at Murdoch University. WAESPAA has been working with the University to get this new initiative of the ground. The initiative is to place preservice teachers into schools for the duration of their training. Four of the seven schools are education support settings Leeming SHS ESC, Maddington ESC, Rockingham SHS ESC and East Victoria Park ESC.
The participants are either preservice students who enter with a high ATAR mark or are existing Education Assistants who the school has identified as having the potential of being a great teacher. Congratulations to all the schools.
Warmest regards,
Debi Taylor
